Network Radar — The AI engine that turns your directory into a living network
Ask a question in plain English, get the right profiles. Spot the bridges who can introduce you. Receive an icebreaker already written for you. Network Radar brings AI-augmented alumni and diaspora networking — an intelligence that works on your private network, not on LinkedIn.
How it works
Four technical building blocks, one natural copilot. Here's what happens between the moment you type a question and the moment you send your first message.
1. Natural-language query
No filters to tick, no boolean syntax to learn. You type "Who from the class of 2016 runs a tech company in Lisbon?" and Network Radar interprets your query: it extracts class, industry, role, city. It disambiguates homonyms, broadens when relevant, narrows when you're specific.
2. Bridge discovery
The real value of a network isn't the profiles — it's the bridges. Network Radar analyses who, among your first-degree connections, can introduce you to the target person. It surfaces shared classes, active mentorships, attendance at the same events. The result: a credible introduction path, not a cold contact.
3. Generated icebreaker
The first message is the hardest to write. The AI drafts a personalised opener from shared signals: same class, common employer, shared industry interest. The message is ready to send — or tweak in one click. You keep the tone, Network Radar builds the skeleton.
4. Estimated response rate
Every suggestion shows an estimated likely response rate, computed from the degree of proximity, the person's activity history and the quality of shared signals. You prioritise the high-odds contacts rather than spray-and-pray.
Two use cases, one AI
Network Radar was born from a simple observation: alumni networks and diasporas share the same problem — thousands of members, very few activated connections. Here's how each group uses it day-to-day.
For school alumni networks
A recent graduate looking for a first job in a specific industry? An alumnus exploring a career change who wants to understand a role? A partnerships officer wanting to identify alumni decision-makers at a key account? Network Radar makes every query instant. The school's directory stops being a file to scroll through and becomes a career lever. See all Terrilink for Alumni features.
For professional diasporas
A diaspora spread across 70 countries is an invisible asset until it becomes queryable. Network Radar lets an expatriate member find, in seconds, a fellow national in their new city, a business contact in a key sector, or an informal diplomatic contact. The diaspora moves from a declarative directory to an operational network. See all Terrilink for Diaspora features.
Concrete query examples
Network Radar doesn't force a syntax. It accepts queries phrased as a natural question, and extracts the relevant criteria. Here are the kinds of questions our users ask every day.
Targeted search: role + company + city
"Who from my class works at Airbus in Toulouse?"
The AI cross-references the user's class, the company field on profiles and declared location. It returns a relevant shortlist, with role details and seniority.
Cross-functional expertise search
"I'm looking for someone who has raised a Series A in B2B SaaS in France."
Network Radar taps declared career paths (experience, seniority, sector) to isolate alumni matching this exact profile. Shared bridges are displayed.
Location-based opportunity search
"I'm relocating to Montreal — who is there and open to connecting?"
The AI combines location, introduction preferences and recent activity. Ideal for alumni on the move or diaspora members relocating abroad.
Event preparation
"Who is coming to Thursday's alumni event and is worth talking to?"
Network Radar cross-references the attendee list with the user's declared goals (role sought, target industry). You arrive briefed, not in random-cocktail mode.
Mentor search
"I'm considering a pivot into energy — who has already made that jump?"
The AI identifies alumni who have actually switched sectors, displays a "Mentor" badge when applicable, and suggests an outreach message aligned with the topic.
Business development search
"I need to meet a head of procurement in European retail."
Network Radar returns the right profiles, ranks them by network proximity and estimates response likelihood. Business development stops being blind.
Why AI on a closed network, not LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is huge, noisy and open to everyone. An alumni or diaspora network is exactly the opposite: tight, qualified, and connected by a strong tie (the school, the country, the language). That's the ideal ground for useful AI.
Signal, not noise
On LinkedIn, a message from a stranger is just one notification among hundreds. In an alumni network, a message from a classmate opens doors: the response is cultural, almost automatic. Network Radar leverages that strong tie.
Fresh, volunteered data
Terrilink profiles are kept up to date by members themselves, who know their data serves their community. The result: a database far more reliable than public signals scraped from the web.
Full sovereignty over your data
Your member base is never sent to a third-party network. It stays in your Terrilink space, hosted in France. The AI operates only on your data, at the request of your authorised users.
Frequently asked questions — Network Radar
What is Network Radar?
Network Radar is Terrilink's AI engine that interprets queries phrased in plain English about your alumni or diaspora network. You type a question the way you would ask a colleague — for example "Who from my class works at Airbus in Toulouse?" — and the AI returns the right profiles, detects the bridges who can introduce you, and drafts the icebreaker.
How is it different from a traditional directory with filters?
A filter-based directory forces you to click through checkboxes (class, city, industry) and read results one by one. Network Radar understands a full intent in a single sentence, cross-references several implicit criteria, detects the bridges (who can introduce you to whom), and produces a ready-to-send outreach message. It's a shift from form to copilot.
What data does the AI work on?
Network Radar queries only the data in your own Terrilink space: profiles filled in by your alumni or diaspora members, career paths, companies, locations, skills. No data is sent to public networks. Hosting is in France and the platform is GDPR-compliant.
Is Network Radar included in every Terrilink plan?
Network Radar is included in the Premium plan of Terrilink for Alumni and in the matching diaspora offers. The Starter and Pro plans give access to the traditional directory with filters. Details are on the Pricing page.
