Best alumni network software in 2026: the comparison

Seven platforms keep coming up when a school, a university or an alumni association looks for a tool: Terrilink, AlumnForce, Hivebrite, Graduway, Datalumni, Mighty Networks and HelloAsso. They are not in the same category — not in price, not in hosting, not in target audience. Here is a factual comparison (pricing verified in June 2026), no spin, to choose based on your profile.

TL;DR

There is no absolute "best", but a best per profile. Terrilink (French, hosted in France, public pricing €69-299/month, native CGE/CTI surveys) fits French schools/universities and diasporas that want a controlled budget. AlumnForce (French, quote-based) is the reference for large established schools. Hivebrite (French, enterprise, quote-based) targets large international communities. Graduway/Gravyty (American, quote-based) excels at large-scale mentorship. Mighty Networks ($79/month) and HelloAsso (free) serve other needs (paid communities; nonprofit payments) rather than structured alumni-network management.

How to read this comparison (methodology)

Comparison compiled in June 2026. Pricing for Terrilink and Mighty Networks is public (the vendors' official pricing pages). AlumnForce, Hivebrite, Graduway and Datalumni do not publish theirs: these vendors work by quote, and we say "quote-based" rather than invent a figure. Positioning and hosting details come from the vendors' sites and public listings (Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice). Full transparency: Terrilink publishes this blog — which is precisely why this comparison sticks to verifiable facts and acknowledges each competitor's strengths.

1. Terrilink — the French platform with transparent pricing

Terrilink is a French SaaS platform for alumni-network and diaspora management, hosted in France and GDPR-compliant. It is the only one in this selection with public pricing: €69/month (Starter), €149/month (Pro) and €299/month (Premium), with a 14-day trial. It covers the directory, events with Stripe ticketing, dues, discussion groups, mentorship and an AI search engine, the Network Radar. Its real differentiator for schools: built-in CGE/CTI employment surveys, a legal obligation for French institutions awarding an RNCP-listed degree that few competitors handle natively. Best for: French schools and universities (especially those bound by CGE/CTI surveys), regional diasporas, associations that want clear pricing without going through a quote. Limit to know: a young vendor, a smaller ecosystem than the historical leaders, and still few public reviews online.

2. AlumnForce — the reference for large French schools

A French vendor based in Paris, AlumnForce equips many major French schools and universities. The platform is comprehensive (directory, events, job board, surveys, membership management) and benefits from years of maturity in the higher-education market. Pricing: quote-based, not public — positioned in the mid-to-upper range depending on institution size. Best for: large established schools and universities with a dedicated budget and a need for a long-standing player. Limit: non-transparent pricing (mandatory quote); see our detailed Terrilink vs AlumnForce comparison.

3. Hivebrite — community at enterprise scale

Founded in 2015 in Paris (offices in New York and Sydney), Hivebrite is a very complete and powerful community-management platform used by alumni but also corporates and NGOs. It shines on large multi-chapter communities and deep customization. Pricing: quote-based, not public; third-party estimates put enterprise tiers above $25,000/year — to be confirmed with the vendor. Best for: large organizations (10,000+ members) with a substantial budget. Limit: cost and complexity often out of proportion for a mid-sized school or an association; see Terrilink vs Hivebrite.

4. Graduway (Gravyty) — the mentorship specialist

Graduway is part of the American group Gravyty. It is an alumni-engagement platform known for its mentorship tools, groups and job board, with a strong presence in the English-speaking market. Pricing: quote-based, no free trial. Best for: institutions that make alumni mentorship their priority, especially internationally. Limit: not French-speaking by origin, and hosting outside the EU to verify for GDPR compliance; see Terrilink vs Graduway.

5. Datalumni — alumni in the service of employability

A French vendor, Datalumni positions its alumni platform on employability and the career center: directory, job offers, events, discussion spaces and connections with partner recruiters. Several French engineering schools and institutions use it. Pricing: quote-based, not public. Best for: schools whose #1 priority is employability and the link with recruiters. Limit: non-transparent pricing; diaspora/international coverage is less central.

6. Mighty Networks — for paid communities, not alumni

A very popular American platform for hosting paid communities and online courses, with an excellent mobile app. Public pricing: from $79/month (Launch plan, ~2% transaction fees), $179/month (Scale), and a quote-based Pro plan. Note: it is not alumni-network software — no employment surveys, no membership management designed for an alumni association, hosting and billing in the United States (in dollars). Best for: creators and monetized interest communities. Limit for alumni use: avoid if you need a structured directory and GDPR compliance; see Terrilink vs Mighty Networks.

7. HelloAsso — free, but not an alumni network

HelloAsso is a free French solution for nonprofits: its model relies on the voluntary contribution left by payers, with no commission or fee for the association. It covers collecting dues, donations, event ticketing and project funding. Note: it is not a directory or a living alumni network — no networking, no member map, no employment surveys. Best for: small associations that want to collect dues and donations free of charge. Limit: it is often used alongside a real alumni platform, not instead of one; see Terrilink vs HelloAsso.

How to choose, by profile

  • French school/university bound by a CGE or CTI survey → Terrilink (native employment surveys + France hosting); AlumnForce if you prefer a very established player and have the budget.
  • Large international community, 10,000+ members, multi-chapter → Hivebrite; Graduway if mentorship is the core of the project.
  • Regional or cultural diaspora spread internationally → Terrilink (world map, multi-country dues, groups by country).
  • Controlled budget / need for public pricing and a trial → Terrilink (from €69/month, 14-day trial).
  • Small association with no budget, just collecting dues/donations → HelloAsso (free), adding an alumni platform later if needed.
  • Paid community or online courses (not an alumni network) → Mighty Networks.

In short

The 2026 market reads along two axes: price (public or quote-based) and target (dedicated alumni vs generic community). If you are a French school, university or association and you want a tool built for the alumni job, hosted in France, with pricing you can check before even talking to a salesperson, Terrilink is the most logical starting point — and you can trial it for 14 days on your own data.
